Monday of this week saw Steve from Spark-Risk Limited travel down South for work and meetings. The first job on the list was a Fire Risk Assessment in Chipstead, Surrey. this was a grade II listed pub/restaurant for a large pub chain. The assessment was fairly simple and the manager had good policies and procedures in place. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that Emergency Lighting be inspected and tested to BS5266 “The Emergency Lighting of Premises”- monthy by a nominated person & Annually by a competent service provider and this was the only element of the assessment which was not in place. Fire exit signs in Chipstead were also minimal throughout the premises. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service are the enforcing authority for this premises.
